Now here's an idea for you guys who make resin blanks mix a small amount dirt from your local football grounds in resin :bwink:
Or for Chas a small amount of dirt from historical battle grounds I bet you could sell quite a few of them

Not sure if you are serious Woody but thats a bl@@dy good idea.

Yes Graham very serious and I bet they would sell like hot cakes just go along and see the manager of the football grounds and offer to sweep out the locker room for them and clean there boots all for free after each game and the club shop and I bet they would fly of the shelf with fans and you could sharge the earth for them a real fan considers the grounds as hallowed and you would be the only one selling them

Thank you all for your comments, a big help, well most of them :funny::funny::funny:

I have decided to as I live in Lincolnshire and considering the county's heritage to link different pen types to both past & present RAF sites i.e. Cranwell, Scampton Coningsby, Wickenby etc :rolling:

I am now working on my website and building up a portfolio of photos as well as stock but still some way off going live with it :whistling:

Watch this space :banana::banana::banana:

A nice idea Billy if your main customer base is local to you .I took a different stance naming them after British forests from around the country, and, as my main platform is my website, my idea was that people from around the country may see a name local to their area and might plump for a pen of that name ...does that make sense:thinks:.

It certainly does make sense, although I am using names local to Lincolnshire I think they could still sell nationwide (and further) because of the RAF link, I will also sell of the web and will feature links and info on the RAF sites.

I should also mention that my main day job involves me working on RAF sites. :rolling:

You can give the same kit different names made of wood say Cranwell, acrylic Scampton Coningsby, Polygem Wickenby that way you could have the whole of GB covered LOL they do it commercially and in some shops

People are hooked on brand names and pay through the nose for them so why not towns, aircraft's, ships, battle fields, the Shakespeare F/P the list is endless go for it if it don't work just change the names

It's not going to hurt sales unless you have "The Hitler" or "The Pol Pot" and may increase them, I think with relevant names it will increase sales, but time will tell.

Lots of people buy things that are associated with things they are interested in, or have an history with a certain place,

You only need to look at blanks that have associations with distilleries.

I am currently putting feelers out about acquiring old timber (and maybe not so old) from our great cathedrals, although many cathedrals already sell pens (in their gift shops) made from there timbers and the pen comes with a letter of authenticity from the Dean or some one in a similar position.

You cold sell a dog turd if it had been dropped on the right spot :funny::funny::funny:
