It's easy to make yourself Mark. Google home made Micarta. It's only fabric, almost any fabric impregnated with either Epoxy or Polyester resin. Denim is quite popular for knife handles but I made some from some old Chino's. Time to get some resin and scour the charity shops? :smile-new:

Certainly looks a nice pen. I must confess I have never heard of this material, you learn something new everyday.

It does look nice:thumbs: basically it's the same as tufnol.

I made one using paper and pva glue just to try the concept and it would have been better if I had used waterproof glue:sob:

WEnt to Blade Forums mixed messages there but remarks were smells like with annoying vapours like chopping onions on steroids. Paranoya is Paralysing so the overall feeling is avoid the fine dust. It does have as I thought formaldahyde in its construction that settles down when set. Just as much danger as turning timber.

My mate the gunsmith has handled a lot from the USA as Gunstocks they are otherworldly beautiful, the ones I have seen.

Peter.
