Managed to complete this bowl which has been laying around for goodness how long. The blank was given to me by Fredrick who use to post on here. Not sure of the wood. It measures 10 1/2" diameter and 5" tall, it was a little soft in places hence the thickness I turned it too, which I think suits it.

I have never turned a bowl as I can't understand how you get a 'feel' for proportion or shape. I can appreciate both and I love what you have done with that it just looks sooo right,

Thank you Mark. I just go with the flow I select a blank and look at it for a while before even mounting it on the lathe then start to turn and see what form suits it best.

Very nice Derek I love turning naturel edge bowls and am in full agreement with you on the design of your bowl perfection m8 love it bloody well done you
