Beautiful pen Andy. Oak burr and CA don't mix. - my regime for oak is 1 coat diluted acrylic sanding sealer. 4 to 6 coats malamine lacquer. 2 coats carnauba wax. Bomb proof finish. High shine. 5 minutes. Job done.

Thanks for this Phil - had the same issue with Thuya so will be using your suggestion - much appreciated :thumbs:
