Hi
I use my bench vice. I have made some MDF jaws which are hard enough to do the job but soft enough not to harm the pens. The problem is that they do not last long. Full of holes.
On the whole though, it's a good system.

Cheers

I made a leg vice on my work table. I got the screws from ebay (old moxon vice) and used a piece of Yew for the leg of the vice. I set the depth on a lower piece of the vice and then tighten it all down. Works a treat and worked out rather inexpensive compared to an actual press, and i get a vice out of it too!

I’ve used different methods over the years & I now use a milescraft. Dead easy to use as is the Axminster but I’m happy.:banana::banana:

I made this for less than a tenner. And a bit of time to make.
Initially was gonna change the red handle for a longer wood one as
it can be a bit hard to lever over, but then it stops me being hamfisted and forcing
the parts to tight !!!
