Just tried my hand at home stabilising. This was a test piece which was a scrap bit of spalted beech, which was really quite punky.
Well, I was very pleased withe the stabilising and the way it turned.
I finished it using the Melamine method, and tuned it into a Zeta.
Overall, for a process test rather than anything else, this turned out to be a rather nice pen, even if I do think so myself.

You are not wrong in your thinking, really well turned out pen all round. Any chance you might share what equipment you used and process/ stabilising fluid?
