I'm not sure i've settled on a particular style yet, my wife is always a great source of wisdom and opinion. And she has much smaller hands than me so is a useful source of alternative user experience. I guess, given human hand size, it's no accident fountain pens nibs are between size 5 and 8, and the pens are in proportion to that?

Yup, fair point. I do seem to like curves where a straight line will do. They do fit ok in my hand (i guess by the time the back of the barrel touches the web of my hand it's narrow enough to be comfortable). I suppose form and function need to be balanced.
