First: I have never done a poll on this site so I hope I have got it right, Jim please check.

Second: I am playing with my new camera setup so you may want pics on tubes or a different set of pics, please let me know init?

Now down to stuff. I have long complained about the quality of kits we have to put up with and have an ongoing "agree to differ" with another forum member.
That member sent me a kit, I assume for me to agree with him that it is indeed a good quality kit. Sorry I don't.
I will agree it is better quality than most but we must have different ideas on "good quality".
I thank you for giving me the opportunity of perusing it, if you would like it back please let me know.

Otherwise I thought we could have a bit of fun here with it and put it to a vote amongst the members.
Not a long drawn out drama but run the poll till Sunday night and the kit with the most votes gets dressed up and sent to Neil for his school fund raiser.

I have put your pen against 2 other so called high end kits of a similar style and straight away came to the conclusion high end equates to bling.
My main gripe with all of these kits is the plastic thread in the cap, not that because it's plastic it's bad or cheap, that is not so, but because I don't believe that it doesn't wear well against the metal thread of the barrel.
I have pictured the components only as that is what I want to judge, tubes vary from batch to batch and are hidden anyway.
I won't influence your decision any further and sorry they are different plating's but I could only compare with what I have available, two roller ball one fountain pen.

What I would like you to do is look at each set of pics and think which kit would look best as a pen, you would most like to make and which is the best quality kit.
Then use one vote to judge 1,2 or 3.
We can discuss the pros and cons after the close if you wish too.
I also appreciate judging from a pic and not having it in hand is hard but that is all we have.

While picturing these kits this happened to one of them shows to me how high end they are.
they all have the same fixing.

I appreciate those who know their kits will recognize and have a bias but the majority of our members will certainly give their honest opinion.
Please if you do know don't broadcast it.

I have used kits 2 and 3 and have reservations on both of them ,I suspect kit 1 to be no better so I feel that I can't vote for any of them. Sorry.
That's a shame Ed I have used them all and have reservations that's the idea of the poll.
Are you sure you have used them?
W'ell find out at the end.

Never made any of them but still voted, can't get more unbiased than that! Keep it up Brian, it's a nice idea and good to see something different in the forum

I have voted for the one I like personally, though there maybe should have been the option of "none" as I wouldn't choose to make any of them for various reasons which I am willing to share at the end of the poll.

Still a great idea for creating a healthy debate, well done.

Well I've not made any of these kits so have no bias. Therefore I have voted for the one which looks best to me.
I'd be interested to know (when the poll has closed) what these kits are

I thought it would be a bit of fun and spent all night preparing this.

I didn't see any of the posts that named the kits, only where you quoted what woody said.

Right if all still want to go for it It doesn't matter about names or whether you have made them or not.
Vote for the one you think is the best quality regardless of personal opinion.
That is the whole purpose of putting it to a vote I personally don't like any of these but if somebody asked me to make one for them, I would steer them away from two of them to the other one explaining why along the way.
I have not paid a penny for any of these kits, that is the only reason I have them.
Actually I did order one but the supplier was so disappointed in them he gave it too me Thank you Woody, Eamonn and Rod (dear departed) for supplying these kits.
One has recently been sent to me and we can talk after poll about this and I thought is it me am I being a curmudgeon lets put it to the forum to decide.
Because you all like names so much I will change the names for anonymity and name them after potatoes that will remind to get some while having my eyes tested this morning.
Number 1 is called the Maris piper, number 2 is called the King Edward and number 3 is a spud init?
Just bloody vote and cut the cackle till after aye.

There ya go I have even voted myself so I can't see who has now but don't let that or anyone else sway your vote.
Even if you have made many of each you must still have an opinion use that as your rating system.
If a customer asked you to make one do you think: number 1, Oooh please No. / number 2, You do really know how to push your luck init. / or number 3, YOU CAN FLICK OFF AND FIND SOME OTHER SUCKER.

Of course we can't tell what the quality is like from a photo so unless we have used them we can only go on looks and all 3 look very similar in terms of bling although only one has a crystal.

This will show who has voted.
