    A 5 1/2" x 2 1/2" bowl in Ukon (ornamental Cherry). The staple across the crotch is made from a copper nail, one of many given to me by John Hodgson.

    Chestnut Sun Burst

    Chestnut burr sanded to 400 grit and then coloured with red and yellow water based dyes and finished with Danish oil before giving it a buff. Measures 5 1/2" X 2 1/2"

    Made from Wych Elm from my friend John Hodgson in Movern (the sound of Mull) Just over 3 1/2" Diameter x 2 1/2" high. Round to the bottom.

    The shine in the picture is how it looks in the hand and not a camera or lighting thing. Silver Birch fruit bowl. This was a 15" blank but had so many shakes it ended up at 10 1/2" x 4"

    Smashing time

    As of yet this bowl has not got a name but I enjoyed every minute experimenting with the rim. I kept the main bowl and underside simple as I wanted the rim to speak for this one. Wood is unknown but I believe it is maple if you know different then please let me know(I don't get maple usually)...
