    Bushing rip off??

Hi, I'm Tom, I've just started turning pens (my daughter bought me "Pen Turner's Workbook by Barry Gross" for my Christmas). Normally I turn bowls and spindles etc. & have :praying::praying:made a couple of acoustic 'Blue Grass' style mandolins. Making pens seems quite an enjoyable side to...

    Golden Oldie. Bring them on

I was given this today, its one of the Fountain pens that me and my dad made. Looking at it I think its been left in the gift box that it was given in. I can't remember when it was but looking at the kit I think it was around 1999 or 2000. I can't even remember the kit, I have looked through...

    Omega in Elm

This is a gunmetal Omega kit, with stabilized Elm. My first Omega. I really love this kit. Sanded to 1000 grit, two coats of sanding sealer, four of Melamine, Carnuba topcoat. Great kit and it's a lovely pen to write with. Writes better, for me at least, without the cap screwed to the back...

Virage Rollerball kit in the UK?

Hello again, I've been looking without success for a virage pen kit in the UK. Does anyone know a UK stockist for these? Many thanks, Karl

A pen... kind of. Where can I get a chalk holder kit in the UK?

I know Penn State Industries makes a chalk holder kit. Item code is PKCKCH (chrome version). They come in gold too. Does anyone know where I can get the kit in the UK? I've had a look and am drawing a blank. Many thanks, Karl

    FLY

Bought the blank from the USA,realised I would need a kit I do not have so I made it from two stray kit pieces I had amongst my come in handy bits and pieces. I like it it handles well. Writes better than I can. Peter.

OK I lied. Really the last pen of the year....

This is one of the Burl blanks I just got from Bucks (Thanks Bucks!). It arrived in the post today, straight down the shed :) This is a Knurl GT in 'gunmetal'. I really like this kit, it shows a lot of the blank and is a very nice pen to write with. I toyed with the idea of filling the...

    Pewter Opal Sirocco

I really love the Sirocco kit. I've made a few now, and thought I'd try the brushed pewter kit. I paired it with a polyester resin 'opal' blank. The pic doesn't do it justice, the subtle rainbow colours in the resin are fantastic. This for a female friend for Xmas. Karl

    Orang/ black Zeta.

This is a Zeta kit. The blank is a really interesting black and orange mix. Quite translucent, it really glows to the eye. This is the first piece of acrylic I've ever turned. Carbide tools on a teeny Precision Pro lathe. Yes Glen, I finally made something  The Zeta is a great kit, I...

    One for the ladies...

Hiya Guys and Girls, My wife has asked me to turn her a pen for her mother for Christmas and I'd like to do something for my sister too. What's a good kit for the ladies? I like the Duchess kit from woodturningz but no one this side of the pond seems to have it in stock. what alternatives do...

    Interchangable Pen kit Bits.....

Hi All, Just a thought...... is there a list anywhere of pen kit parts that are interchangeable i.e. kits that use the same tubes, the same bushings etc? I've been admiring the fancy "tube in" blanks out there on the interwebs and i have no idea what fits with what. Also every time I order a...

    Polyclay

Hi guys....well these are fiddly.....my first slimline polymer clay blanks from Toni Ransfield.....the detail is fantastic, fitted to a rhodium kit from Vince at Turners workshop 1 down 2 to go

    Anglers pen

This was supposed to be for me but I don't like it so will probably sell it on where I go to fish. Specifically I think the tiger bamboo is too fussy on a kit with that much detail and maybe should be a much plainer wood or even antler or horn. I'm not sure I like the kit either but being a keen...

    Dissemble

Hi I need to disassemble a bolt action pen as I had not noticed the lathe was not aligned true and it’s very clear now the blank is in the kit..? Can this be done without a special tool? Cheers Kevin
