Don’t use a permanent marker pen to mark the blank again! The ink must have penetrated the blank at least 2-3mm

Can anyone help with a problem I have had off and on for a long time with labels? As you can see in the pic, there is a white mark at the end that happens with roughly half the label blanks I make. I then have to make another one and hope for the best. I print the label on an inkjet printer...

The first one is a Mark 1 with a home grown patriotic blank and the second is a Mark 2 with the same blank. Peter

This is a Vertex click pen in gunmetal. The blank is oak, from a Makers Mark whiskey barrel. This was commissioned by a friend of mine, for his friend who is a Makers Mark fan. This will be getting laser engraved. The finish is Watco Danish Oil.

Finally achieved it a double 303 with a proper tip which a kind forum member passed on to me. Thanks for that Mark. Brass is only polished and has no sealer. Peter
