I Found a small piece of wood in my scrap box, not sure where it came from - thought I'd turn it up - probably a spare from an old ship model kit from years ago, however it looked interesting ............. I think it's Walnut but I'm not sure. The finish is sanding sealer them polished with...

Bit different to flexi and his version but here was my first attempt today. The wood was I believe Walnut - it was a chunk in the offcuts box at Yandles! Regards Padster

    Birthday Set....

This a pen my wife requested for her birthday, so I decided to pair it with a pencil as well. The blanks were horrible to turn and had to be uber careful but the result is ok, and she really likes it which we all know is all that really matters!! :funny: Regards Padster

    Veneered Pen

Actually got the finish correct with this pen I followed Phil Dart Melamine tutorial and it worked out OK. Downside with this pen is that white glue is showing between the layers, this appeared whilst turning and I do not know how to get rid/hide it. Got the blank from Mark flexi Cheers...

    My Best Pen

This has to be my best pen to date. We see a lot where the comments are "The Photo does not do it justice" and I can safely say this is one of those moments  I absolutely adore this pen even though the finish is only at 90% where it should be (in my opinion, although it may be at 100 %...

    Blue and Green

Nothing particularly special but I thought I’d post this because I really like the colours of this material. It’s an acrylic and I matched it with a plain blue acrylic and sterling silver accent rings. It has 13mm threads and takes a Jowo nib. Cheers Ash

    A long way to go

I have finally made a pen that I sort of like. I say sort of because it has lines showing. I seem to be going great guns then I go onto the 320 grit sanding and lines just appear out of the blue, Do I go back to the 220 grit to try and get rid of them or start again from the 120 grit? regardless...

    Another landing craft pen

From this: Comes this. Very pleased with the finish as there was a lot of rot in the oak frames.

    Almost done....

Two from this weekend.... Almost completed as I want the customer to see these 'before' I get them engraved on the caps..... She has asked for 5 in various colour combinations and I want her to pick who gets what..... These are Phils diamond blanks and IMHO are stunning.... 3 more to do 'if' I...

    Oak Pen

I almost did not manage to do this pen due to the blank breaking, Well I say breaking but I think exploding would be a better description. Not sure what the wood was but it was very "powdery" in that it was only giving off dust and not ribbons. Once that happened I decided to use one of the oak...

    Finally a Shock Absorber Pen

Third times the charm as folks say. After twice messing up I finally tried my third attempt to get this pen right. The main difference between this one and the other 2 is that I used bushes this time and made sure I did not press the keyring into the tube :rolling: I tried using veneered wood...

    Black and Red

I made this one for myself. I had made one previously and was going to add a clip to it but forgot and glued the cap finial in by mistake. So this is version 2 (with clip). I used vintage black cellulose and complimented it with a modern deep red cellulose. It has a Bock style nib (same...

    Writers pen.

Hi Guys, Just finished a Mistral fountain pen kit with black titanium fittings and black ti accents, for an author/writer. The wood is good an old favourite, Thuyr burl wood. Finished in CA glue, 12 coats, sanded down to 600 grit and polished to finish using 12000 grit and t-cut. It’s lustre is...
