Segmented Beech & Walnut Omega RB

This was my first ever attempt at doing a segmented pen using nothing but scraps left over from previous pens, and some cuts from an old rifle stock. The English walnut was very very dense, and clearly came from the era of rifle stocks which were built to last! Adie

Do people care if it's wood with a 'fancy' name?

It got me thinking...are people more likely to buy a pen because the wood has a fancy name like Cocbolo, Padauk etc...or do people not really care? As a wood worker, I know which woods are easy to acquire and which woods are exotic or...

    Walnut Bowl

Had a rummage through my wood blanks and thought I would rough turn one of the Walnut ones. Turned the outside and did a moisture test and it was down to 12% so the log had been laying around longer than I thought, so I decided to turn to completion. So here it is, size is 9" X 2"
