My second Zeta did not go to plan, the tube refused to go in the last quarter of an inch.
So I turned it back another quarter and stuck on a piece of Parapan.
I think it came out alright. I'm sure this has happened to many.:vangry:image.jpgimage.jpg

Yep, you could have trimmed the tube off that was sticking out and poped it in the other end.

Used a Dremel with cutting disk to do it once before. But if that happens now I just chuck it in the bin and start again.

In fairness the glues (epoxy) I use now I don't have that problem.

As for a recovery of a pen tube and blank that is all it is, in my mind that is what it will always be to you too.

Finish looks good tho.

Shame is that John as it would have been a cracker of a pen. Although it's good practice to do what you have done I think there's a lot in what Eamonn says.

Thanks for the advice guys, there are always options, I'll start by getting some epoxy.

Epoxy of course.
And if you have to make an oops ring (who never did?), do the same one symmetrically on the other side, why not with a sheet of veneer in between. It will look like a planned work of art.
And maybe take some time to choose a colour that will fit, but that's a matter of taste.

You are so right Pierre, sometimes contrasts are welcome, sometimes not. I did think of symmetry, but I just opted for a contrasting quick fix. Thank you all once again for your suggestions.
