Back awhile I had an appointment with a specialist, was parking the car in the shade, asked SWMBO since she said she would wait in the car and read if she would like a window down. The reply was yes, which one, answer yours.

Typical of my heart surgeon he was held up in theatre.

During this time we had an almighty storm come over and it was accompanied by shattering noise and lightning, when I returned you guessed it had poured into the compartment in the drivers side door compartment. We had mislayed a key for the Mercedes and a new one to cost 600 dollars. With no means to wind the window up it was a mess.

Two days ago I had cause to go to this car found the pen left in the door had missed the clean up (large door). There was the pen, of course I can now strip it and repolish it but there it is Amboyna Burl some time after.

The before and after pics say it all.

I am the only driver but when I bought the 1999 Mercedes all wheel drive the intention was to give our faithful Daewoo Leganza to our daughter and keep the Mercedes. They wanted to charge near 2000 for a tow bar and since my trailer is essential at our place we kept both and I change them over every few weeks.

When you are in a hurry things happen.

Peter.

I showed the pen last year I will be happy when I restore it thinking to play with this design further when I get my long brass.

Sad story Peter mate, but you can imagine it could have been even sadder: bad diagnosis from your specialist ("You just have twenty minutes before your next heart attack, consultation is 80$, would you mind paying at once?"), lightning on the car with pen or/and SWMBO inside, and much more possibilities. That will for sure comfort you.

Nice pen btw, I mean it was a nice pen, before. I love the window.

What was the wood finish?
