It was made in China, so no idea of what it was made from.

You could always make your own from the hdpe bottle tops like Ted melts.

Yes, 10mm it's a good thickness to be able to use screws in it. I remember drawing out the pieces I needed to cut and then trying to get a piece that would accommodate the 3 I wanted to make, with the least possible waste.
