They don't actually TWB, but it is an advantage to sharpen them at regular intervals. Some very nice pens can be made from this material. Thou some of my biggest loses working with this material is blow-outs. I do my drilling on the lathe and i have learned to run the speed no faster than 500 rpm, and never let the drill get over heated.
