Just ordered a few bits and pieces today including some of the leadwood below. Any tips and suggestions for how it turns please as the name alone terrifies me 😆

I found it’s similar characteristics to ebony/African Blackwood so it’s a nice firm wood to turn.

Remember you can turn many metals (copper, brass, aluminium, silver) using hand tools on a wood lathe so even the toughest woods are no match for your steel/carbide gouge.

Use sharp tools (always), light cuts and secure the workpiece well and you’ll be fine. You’ll probably find this easier to turn than grainy/punky woods.
