    First attempt at hollowing....

    Derek gifted me an Elm blank which I am trying to turn into a potpourri bowl. Not finished yer as I have had to secure some cracks and waiting for the adhesive to cure. But this is what it looks like at the moment. I think it Elm.....has a great figure. Cheers Frederick

    New Extra Deep Block / Slab Moulds

    After a request for a slightly deeper block mould, we have just developed these two new moulds which are now available on our website www.PenBlankAndMoulds.co.uk in Addition/Platinum cure silicone. Obviously you can cast thinner slabs by filling to the required level.

    Pen Blank Moulds

    We have just updated our website with our revised sized Pen Blank/Block Moulds. We've made the moulds 5mm higher to avoid spillage and included a handy indicator line on the inside of each mould to enable you to fill to the right level, and also the name and size of blanks are embossed on the...

    Beech with a painted rim and resin inlay

    I still need to tidy up the edges a bit but have to wait a week or so for the resin to fully cure sorry again for the picture quality my Camera is broke so have to use my phone.

    First failure.

    Tried some casting today, it didn't go well. I want to do some encapsulation of bits and bobs so I used epoxy (as you can see)!a simple plastic box as a mold and thought I'd try a Lego figure (just for fun). Into the vac chamber it went. It seems you have to degas the stuff several times and...
