    A long way to go

I have finally made a pen that I sort of like. I say sort of because it has lines showing. I seem to be going great guns then I go onto the 320 grit sanding and lines just appear out of the blue, Do I go back to the 220 grit to try and get rid of them or start again from the 120 grit? regardless...

    first pen turned

This was my first attempt at making a pen. Made with Zebrano wood to a slimline pen-kit. Struggling with the finishing process at the moment, as this was sanded to 600 grit, then a coat of friction polish and microchrystalline stick to finish. Regards. John

    First fp

Turning went well with the African blackwood, but the scratches were so difficult to get out despite using a screw at the end and going 400 grit to 12000 polish, also not impressed with the kit, the lid is a fraction off because the barrel provided is too long

    Feels good

Well after all the wood prep and shows I managed after a couple of hours gardening to get back in the shed even if it was only to pick up the little leaf/flower piece that I shaped. I took it into the garden and sat in the shade with some sandpaper and spent a few hours sanding the final shape...
