    Blue Harley

Used up a bit more of my patience and did another slimline harlequin pen, this time in blue. It looks like hard work, but it's just therapy for the sole. George

    Sirocco in cross-cut Zebrano

Finally got around to turning a piece of the Zebrano - and I wanted to try one of the new Sirocco kits, here is the result. I was quite surprised at how hard the wood is, it made it more difficult to turn than anticipated. Finished with Melamine.

Pen of the Week - 8 May 2017

This weeks Pen of the Week chosen by Freck Fraser goes to the Fountain Pen made by Flexi (Mark). Freck said "Lots of top class pens this week and it's been a hard choice as there are many worth a mention. However for the sheer amount of hard work and skill Mark's pen is a worthy winner". Here...

    Pro-x

These kits are hard to find wood that matches. I think the solid resin is better.

Hi folks, hopefully you will be able to help here, this is my latest pen but the black acrylic at the tip has a sheen to half of it, hard to show in the pictures but the camera flash showed it up best. 1 half is jet black and the other has a crazing to it, is it the "iridescence"...

    Yew Omega

Was lucky enough to get stack of well seasoned mixed logs from a local historic estate. They have been in a barn for over 6 years apart from some cherry which is now settled into a new home drying nicely. Its hard work cutting logs with just a hand saw, but I like trying different cuts...
