Made this afternoon a Masonic pen set dressed in Brazilian Yellow Sucupira wood this set is bound for Australia tomorrow one very happy customer

I was turning a Slimline pen earlier when something very peculiar happened. One of the blanks suddenly looked dark as the lathe was spinning with the other looking very pale, I turned the lathe off and had a look at the blank and it looked like burr, except it felt like cork. I carried on...

but bought it anyway.. i know i said i was going to make it slimmer, but then i figured a matching pair would be better...ill slim down the next lot...working on a case for them now, hopefully tomorrow will see it done PS, apologies for the piccies, a photographer i aint :rolling:

I am working on a piece of chestnut burr which is stained with chestnut spirit stains and has been sealed and a coat of finish. Tomorrow I will give it a gentle rub down and remove the chucking point

Well the shed has been tidied up and all the tools cleaned and put away for a bit. Knee Revision Operation tomorrow got to be at the Hospital for 07:30 so it's a set off at 05:30. Not looking forward to this one but hopefully it will be 3rd time lucky ???

Well the day is nearly upon us so I spent a little time this morning replacing my bandsaw blade ready to cut the pieces I have cut into rounds. The old blade was cutting teribble and I should have changed a while ago. So the first thing in the new year is to buy some replacement blades as I like...

Home from Hospital, visiting tomorrow A Nurse who helped me beyond and way over the normal. Visiting her at work tomorrow to say thanks once again with this pen as a gift. She eased my pain and helped as a go between the many proceedures etc for two busted ribs and suspected damages. Peter.
