Every time you talk in pounds I find it difficult to convert in my mind however in saving? money plus the inevitable postage etc several prototypes of pressing pens I favour the one ton bearing press located at my lathe where I sit mounted at eye height where I turn, polish assemble buff etc most convenient. With me anything I buy I feel the need to modify, improve the ram of the press did not mate absolutely so I reversed the ram fixed a 3/16 square of Corian it comes in large sheets a sheet given me one time. Where the anvil seats made an aluminium block with more thin Corian, bushed the mech to the geared ram it has pressed innumerable pens of all types worry free ever since. Will look for a pic.

Kind regards Peter.:goesred:

Terry do you like the quality of the clamp.

I find mine binds part way through the lever swing, but reckon if I knock the pin out and file a little more out on the link either way and it'll be fine. These have a good deal of travel on them for their size. I'll put mine on when I get five mins to knock it up - workshops upside down with a sortout at the moment, so it'll be a while yet.

Thanks for the tip again Gents. Very very pleased with this thingy indeed

Cheers for the tip. Mine arrived having had a bath in wd40

I knocked the pin out - didn't make a jot of difference as the shaft binds on its own. I found the witness marks on the press shaft, dug out some fine emery and polished it and it's much easier.
