The great grandson was here today and asked if he could have a go at pyrography so I found something which I thought he could do and got the pattern onto a piece of ply. After a few lines dots and other scribbles to get the feel of the pen this is what he produced for his Mum. He is only 8 but he really enjoyed the time making this.

I just sat and watched with a gentle nudge now and again otherwise I left him to get on with it. He started with the bells first then the ribbon and then the leaves and finally once he worked down he did the writing. The only thing I did was to put a finish on and the ribbon. His mum was well pleased. and his nan gave him an A+

Well done that lad.. It makes me feel so proud when the young ones have a go at things like this.

I know how I feel when grandson is in the shed with me, keep it up Derek, all good stuff and he will remember it for the rest of his life..
