Golf Pens - Help!

Hi all

I hope someone can point me in the right direction......

One of my family friends has asked if I could make them a pen for their golfing hobby.

Knowing the individual, I don't think just replacing the standard clip with a golf club clip on a slimline pen will do, as they like a heavier style of pen....

I have turned Sierra Pens and Slimline ones so far....

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!

You could just turn a heavier slimline like this

if you use a dense wood it will also feel heavier.

You could make one like this. Not a very good photo but it's the only one I have.

I have seen something somewhere where a golfball was skinned and then that was used to make a blank from. I cant find it now though.

To complement the pen make a Pen Rest, mount an old wood cut the handle off. I drill the base of the club and thread 1/4 inch, insert a short threaded rod and drill and tap the burl slice. I will look for a pic.

Branden was a very talented pen maker, I wonder what happened to him, I still have one of his blanks at home.
