With Neuropathy in both feet ie little or no feeling far too dangerous for me I will leave it to the experts. Too much is made about the skew IMHO proof of this lies in the unexplained piles of other chisels we accumulate.

Pro turners trained in the system as apprentices journeyman here in Australia often only used their Skew for everything. Our late mate in Canberra schooled in Perth made his own lathe, wood pulleys and all.His specialty was huge posts for housing up to 15 feet long, he would turn one place it in front of the lathe and make 15 the same by eye. Rarely needing sandpaper at all.

Thank you for the reference I have seen the people in Ubud Bali turning this way also displaying great skill.

Like driving a car as an automatic times and needs change. So many drivers can not use a manual shift there are licences for auto car driving used extensively.

Peter.
