Very appealing. Are those bits and pieces of pine cone or small whole cones?

The circular bits in photo 4 are cross sections of the cones, I had placed them mostly one way apart from about 6 cones, but when I took the block out of the mould I couldn't tell which way the cones were facing and I had a 50/50 chance (next time I will mark it) so most of the cones are cross cut, but I think it worked out okay.
