The last couple of days been giving all the exterior surfaces a coat of finish no pictures hopefully get the joint and bottom surfaces done tomorrow if the rain stays off.

Sorry no pictures as watching finish dry is boring

At last, the panels have the finish on and dry. They have just dried before it started to rain again. Now all I need is a dry day no wind and someone to help put it up. How lucky will I be to get all three at the same time.

Took the opportunity to make a door today and clear the decks ready for assembly but it looks like that may not happen until after the weekend as it is forecast for rain yet again.

First picture just about to fit the diagonal braces the second picture the door has been trimmed to get rid of the tongue and tenon on each side as well as to bring it to final width

Today is the first day of no rain and little wind I have dismantled what is left of the old shed and cleaned the decks for the new one to go up. The old shed did not take much to take down as it nearly fell down by itself:goesred:
I have stopped for yet another break as I have to do this in small spurts due to my health, that is why I am able to post this.
By the end of today, I have most of it assembled, with the help of a club member at least the end is getting very close which means that I can empty some of the other sheds and conservatory. This also means some much-needed turning time as I am getting withdrawal symptoms.

Yet another day on the rebuild with the promise of rain by midday I did not expect to get much done but was hoping that I could at least get the gutter and roof battens on. But luck was on my side and I even managed to get the roof sheets on as well.
Now all I need to do is build the last remaining wall and door. I have placed the old rack in there but it needs a couple of pieces of wood replacing before it is filled up again.

Is the orange thing your new "in the doghouse bed"? :funny:

Pete

Well it is waterproof.

Now I am really feeling the end is close the last side made today after having to fight the silly shoppers for the weekly shop, at least with a tool shop there is something worth looking at.

Did not put the finish on as the feather boards are too wet so decided to assemble and fix in place.

The shelf unit is back in properly now ready to be restocked from all the hiding places.

Taking a day off tomorrow at the turning club then Sunday onwards I will get the door complete and if lucky start moving everything back and then back to normal.

On the finishing straight, Derek. Well done.
How did you tie the corrugated iron into the gable of your house? or what filler did you use?
Alan

There is nothing at the moment. the roof is not corrugated iron but some other corrugated material that has a 15 year w/tee(but not against High winds:funny:)

Are you putting a gutter along the back of the roof as it appears you’ll be shedding water towards your neighbours property?

A neighbour at one of our previous houses put up a shed near to our garage and the water coming off the shed roof caused damp. We complained and someone came round and told her to put a gutter on the roof and keep the run off on her property. Luckily she complied and the damp dried up in a few months, luckily nothing got damaged.

Gutter fitted before the roof went on need to add a couple more bits so that the downpipe can be fixed to the shed. At the moment it is just held there by the top

Nice. We have a 200L water butt fed from our shed and it was surprising how quickly it filled.

Haven't read your thread for a few days Derek - your shed's looking great.

Took a couple of days off of the build went to the turning club Saturday and had a lazy day yesterday.

Back on it in a minute once I finish my coffee, don't you just love it when coffee breaks come when you want them:tongue:

Today saw the main part of the build completed now all that remains is the last panel and door to have a wood preserver applied and the downpipe needs a couple of bends put in so that it can be secured to the side.
I also managed to clear most of the conservatory much to the wifes enjoyment as well as cleared the workshop, so that I can now get in there and do some turning at last.

If it is dry tomorrow will get the last jobs done. There is still a lot of wood to move back in from the second wood store so that I can move in there. Thankfully I have a sack truck and wheel barrow to help move the rest as it is 50ft away from this one. And then the greenhouse needs emptying so I can start to plant some seeds ready for the summer most being seeds for the veg patch.

Once I get the chance I will dig the veg patch
