Hi All, I haven't turned anything in a while and well.. Still haven't... These are Les's braided blanks from Canada...

There have been a few pens here recently using local timbers, so here's mine. Elm mostly, with some segmention ( for a change ) using Ash and Elm. Alan

Had a few kits hanging around so I made them up a steampunk dressed in a piece of Spalted Burr Elm and a few nautical pens both dressed in HMS Victory woods Oak and Elm from the keel

I made up a Mattese fountain pen dressed it in Spalted Apple wasn’t sure about this kit but am now well pleased with it and two Managers pens one in burr Elm and one in Brown Oak

Made this ladies stylus pen in Wyche Elm and black chrome without a clip.

Still getting to grips with bowl turning this was from a piece of Elm.... Regards Padster

Made a pen set in Mulberry for an order and a few in burr Elm, Tiger stripe wood and camphor burr

Made up a few pens yesterday a Aston pen set in cork Oak and a ball point pen from the PKM-3 series in burr Elm lovely kit even if it is from China we’ll make more of these

I was asked to make a bowl as a retirement present for the outgoing Chairman of Blind Veterans UK. & our own Neil Lawton kindly donated an elm burr. The bowl is 12”” diameter x 4” deep & is finished with sanding sealer & microcrystalline wax. It was a challenge as I hadn’t turned a bowl I over 2...

Another English Elm twist pen. I just love the grain and deep finish on this pen but sadly I have very little elm left.

I got a nice wee piece of elm burr at a local auction and this is one of the first ones turned. Omega pen kit. Alan

New pen finished last night. Tried to get the combination of wood and ‘synthetic’ right and think the kirinite works well with the elm. Had a few problems with lacquering the wood so will need to go back and revisit that but pretty happy with this one. An critique would be most welcome.

A couple of Taylors Mirfield click kits made up. The British made Pratchett kit in Whitebeam is for the 99 year old gent who owned the tree, followed by the new Athena 88 in Burr spalted Elm.

OK, so this may be stretching the boundaries of the May challenge but if I hadn't recovered the blank it would have no doubt hit the bin....:whistling: Burr Elm with Ali inlay, complete with Beech wood box with Ali inlay....

Elm in gold, Yew in Rose, and Silver Birch in gunmetal.

Well well well it's finished but it was kicking and screaming all the way to the end. It even had a repair before finial sanding so this pen is made in Elm Burr w/ Blue & Orange Resin I was going to turn in wood first but then Ash suggested I make my first pen in acrylic for the ease of making...
