    A pen and a blank

The pen is S. American Bloodwood segmented, separated from dyed Tassie Oak ends with rings cut from an old Persil container. The blank is Pheasant Wood segmented with Box ends. Do you think that the dividers in the blank would be a better in a different colour than green? The green is a lot...

Lime Green, Black and Chrome Zephyr

This is my first Zephyr and I don't know why we don't see more of them. As always with Phil's kit it feels high quality. I have been hesitant with the lime green as to if it would work with the black and chrome, really glad I went ahead and did it now. Let me know if you think it works. As...

    Green Ply

A Green and black ply Feels good in the hand. I don't really like it, I feel the colours are wrong for the colour of the kit. It may grow on me.

    English Field Maple

Hi pen people. I got hold of a really nice looking bit of dyed and stabilised maple and made this pen. It has sterling silver and sage green accents. The dye used was a teal colour, which is quite vivid in places, but it also has darker green hues along with the natural colour of the wood. I...

    Hi

I have the lathe and most of the kit I need to start making pens. Lot of info on here to read as I'm very green. So far all I've managed to create is a mess. Looking forward to creating some family heirlooms.

    Where have they gone?

When I started pen turning and looked for slimline kits there were many companies offering kits in many colours. Now I’ve run out of kits and want to fulfill commissions but I now can’t find suppliers who offer other than blue or green kits. I need mainly red ones so if anyone knows of a...

    One from Jim

Hi all, 6 off 6 hopefully the last of this commission? The blank came from our Jim before he gave up pen turning( which I think he's started again) and this forum. It was called Sassy green and was like turning inlace to start with, but sanded and polished like a beaut... The client wanted an...

    And another two

Hi all, just putting a bit more stock together.... These two Levech are dressed in the stabalised double dyed blanks from Axminster/ PSI, not cheap by any means but always good results. One is green and yellow one is red and yellow?

    Green wood

I know that green wood when turned is very liable to alter it's look, it distorts is probably the best phrase I can think of. With a bowl I believe it can alter it's state as fast as the first night. If a pen was turned green and assembled would it still be able to distort? I have seen...

    Latest commission

Hi all, my latest commission..... I was asked to do a 'green' fountain pen in the last throws to what passed as Christmas. I did a double dyed blank which I thought was stunning... But she wanted a hybrid!!... Well I ordered a couple from a certain turner turn caster and they 'melted' just...

    Still going.....

Hi all, as per title..... I sold a green Cholla cactus Omega through a shop only to have a Instagram request for said pen. I explained it had been sold and they still wanted a green pen..... Well I think its green enough...... Double dyed blank from PSI via Axminster(and Robin Hood, please don't...

    Two for this week

I am trying to build a bit of stock for a shop who's going to be stocking my pens.... So here we have a Sirroco in green laminated ply from a gunstock company. And a Yew, gold Levech rollerball...

    Green Themed.

The Hub City Turners, a local woodturning club I belong to, will have a display of turnings at a local mall. The theme is Green. I struggled for a while trying to come up with something so I decided to make a pen from Staghorn Sumac. It is a small tree that has green wood to varying degrees.The...
