    Coloured pencil blank

Evening turners. I made a few coloured pencil blanks today and decided to follow the tutorial on here. The making of the blanks went well but the turning was another matter. I'm wondering if it's because I bought cheapy pencils? I glued them all together really well and stopped every few...

    Stainless steel bolt pens

Hi. Those of you who read my "Introduce Yourself" will know that whilst I make pens from kits using acrylics I particularly like making pens from other materials. Now that I am getting back into the hobby after a bit of a layoff I am posting some photos of pens made by me a couple of years ago...

    Coloured Pencil

I like to do a bit of drawing so I thought I'd turn a mechanical pencil. It is turned from lime, the centre part which I have coloured and I think the darker wood is African blackwood. The kit is from Prokraft and I left the clip off because I think the shape looks better without it. Thanks for...

    Sirocco Pencil Conversion,

I made a Sirocco ballpoint in cross-cut Zebrano last year, and the guy who bought it asked if I could make a matching pencil. Thanks to Phil, I was able to respond in the positive! Finished with melamine, I was quite pleased with the result.

    A fancy slimline pencil.

Well turned this fancy slimline pencil using walnut I think. Finished with thin CA glue, really enjoying the learning and practicing. Am going to try a melamine finish on my next attempt!!! Sorry the pic isn't clearer but will sort that for next post!!

    Part/kit sources?

I'm looking for a pencil kit/parts with 0.5mm lead, with brushed/satin finish hardware and slim design. Seems there are not to many around as this is all I've run into so far. Slim Style Pencil Kit - Satin Nickel Anybody know about the quality of this mechanism? It also shows a twist style...

Faulty pencil unit, but great service for replacement.

I recently made a pencil from an Axminster gunmetal pencil kit (200354) all went well until a day later I tried to use the eraser and when pulling the cap off the entire cartridge came apart. I filled in a return request online and got a full replacement set the next day, great service from Axi...

    Your advice needed.

Hi everyone, I've been asked to make a pen and pencil kit for my nephew. I don't make many pencils so am looking for your advice on which kit to go for. The only one i make regularly is the sketch pencil but this is too large for the purpose. I find the slimline pencils not great and unreliable...

    One more Workshop Pencil

A Chrome Workshop Pencil with a home grown acrylic blank. Unfortunately I started to assemble it without the spring and had to take it apart and didn't notice I hadn't lined up the two hex nuts. Peter

    Chrome workshop Pencil

This is a Chrome workshop Pencil with Myrtle Burr. The fact that the top plunger need to be CA'd into place means I wouldn't sell these as I would be too worried that the plunger could come off so I will at last have my own. Peter
