Couple of Sirocco Acrylics from today

Here are todays efforts dark coloured blank from Pen Moulds and Blanks and the yellow blank from else where but I can't remember. Only difference with these after sanding with micro mesh to 12000 I applied a coat of Microcrystalline wax, then buffed with a soft cloth.

    Antler Sirocco and Stand

The little girl next door found a shed antler earlier in the spring and asked if I would make a pen for her. I really liked the copper Sirocco with the antler. She is a happy little girl!

    Sirocco Pencil Conversion,

I made a Sirocco ballpoint in cross-cut Zebrano last year, and the guy who bought it asked if I could make a matching pencil. Thanks to Phil, I was able to respond in the positive! Finished with melamine, I was quite pleased with the result.

    Jarrah Sirocco

Here's a brushed copper Sirocco in Jarrah Burl. I wanted to visually tie the kit into the blank, so I inlaid a metallic bronze band into the wood. To put a bronze/copper/orange colour into the wood itself, the pen seems more complete, a whole item. The Jarrah is beautiful to work, so dense and...

Earth's Core Sirocco. Last pen of the year.

This is a gunmetal chrome Sirocco, with a Rhino Plastics 'Earth's Core' polyester blank. I really, really enjoyed making this one. I finally had a chance to make a day to day pen for myself :) The colours shimmer beautiful when the pen is moved, really dancing in the light. Karl

    Black Sirocco, red/black blank

Here's another Sirocco. Black one this time. This was a good lesson for me in choosing blanks. The blank I picked was very dark and gloomy, just glimmers of red in there. I thought it would go well with the black Sirocco. When I turned it, it really brightened up. Polished up, it looks...

    Pewter Opal Sirocco

I really love the Sirocco kit. I've made a few now, and thought I'd try the brushed pewter kit. I paired it with a polyester resin 'opal' blank. The pic doesn't do it justice, the subtle rainbow colours in the resin are fantastic. This for a female friend for Xmas. Karl
