    I had a mate who imported from his village in Africa ladles and various timbers,this one from a large ladle stem. Difficult to turn because palm timber is made up of roots. Like this contrast with the sap.:thumbs::thumbs:

    Two more leveche

    Hi all, I have an Amboyna fountain and a Cholla Fountain.... The Cholla was from Dave at Penkitz and Bitz and was very nice to turn with no air bubbles. I did also paint the hole just to be on the safe side..

    Had a blow out

    Just finishing, with one last turn and Bang. Hadnt happened for years..... so I'm putting it down to a crack and not me! I had to turn the cap off and lucky enough I had just enough Desert Ironwood to do the cap with cap ends of Acacia. Majestic Jnr. kit.

    is coming soon.. ive not seen anyone else do it..but that dont mean they havent.. cast it yesterday so will be able to turn it in a couple days.. it may turn out crap, but it also maybe c a f...we will see. getting a tad excited tbh watch this space :winking:

    Zebrano Bowl

    I thought it was about time I turned something so dug this wood out from the pile a little disappointed as it took me two hours to turn need to turn more. Finished with sander sealer and woodwax22 size is 6" X 1 3/4".

    Blank Preparation

    How far ahead do you prepare and tube up your blanks? Do you do them as you are going along or have you prepared all of your blanks days or weeks before you turn them?

    Hi all, Back to more 'C' gifts... :winking: The first is spalted Tamarind, the second double dyed Maple. Both were stabalised and really easy to turn and finish. I have a third left to get engraved so going well:pray::pray:

    todays effort

    this one started out as a carved wild boar. no idea what the wood is..i got another 5 blanks out of it so we will see how they turn out... hopefully the youtube thing works as ive just set it up and have no clue what im doing :)

    Fordite

    Not really casting I know but have any of you seen pens made out of Fordite?! Do a Google, some of the material looks really good. No idea what it’s like to turn of course.

    It Took A While.

    I was looking for something else and I found two of these kits, I had bought them when I first started to turn. Blimey I was shocked with what I found:duh: The original plan was to make one for dad and one for me. Well Dad doesn't need his any more guess, I will find a use for both of them...

    Rough and ready

    Got fed up with the CA sticking to the tube inserter so made this. Dead easy job that only I can turn into something difficult. I tried to turn the PE HDPE without putting it on a mandrel and without a live centre, Ended up like a dogs dinner. I ended up trying to rectify doing things wrong...
