Tried again 10” yew bowl see if it works this time

Fresh of the lathe today a 10” Yew bowl finished with sanding sealer and several coats of spray lacquer.

Made this set today a Dayacom Designer pen n pencil set dressed in Yew

Follow on from Woody TVS that posted some old PSI kits. Thought I would follow suit. Yew wood with Sap wood. PSI Classic pen kits, RB/FP and Parker. All finished with Melamine Lacquer. I might make this a "Foursome" as I have a pencil kit as well. :thinks: Then a box to suit as well.

I love my hobby and a challenge this lump of Yew is 12” x 13” with two waney edges from start to finish with a spray lacquer finish this one will be auctioned to raise funds for a veteran who was homeless but now the council have given him a flat

Made this Yew bowl this morning 8” x 4” with a silky smooth polish finish

Made a few more bits this morning a She Oak 8” bowl and a 7” yew mushroom all good fun

Had another play today turned a Yew natural edge bowl 7” wide x 5 1/2” tall fund raiser for the BHF

Had a nice little session this morning with a Yew log and a bit of 4” x4”

I cut some blanks from some extremely dry Yew recently and found it to be very splintery and full of cracks. Here's one that just about stayed in one piece on an Omega kit. Alan

Well, Gary (Garno) made it up to York today and can no longer say he's not turned anything! A Yew bowl, a Zeta in Olive and an Omega fountain pen in Turkey Oak.
