Thanks for that, they are really expensive and it makes all the more sense to cast your own, that's why I bought quite a bit of Red and Brown Mallee plus 3 boxes of AussieBurls.

These are slightly cheaper than George Watkins 'from the tree' but he does use Malee burl in his blanks and more iridesence too...just another option:thinks:

I think you will find they are more than slightly more expensive than george watkins blanks who charges about £15.00

Buyer beware you seem to have a gold tooth mate however your pens should fetch a premium. Without pics its hard to observe more than price from here.

Nice pen!

I too have 'invested' in one of these blanks to make a pen for my eldest, is there anything to watch out for flexi? Or turn as a standard wood blank?

I'll look again at George's blanks, many had sold by the time I got there last time...how often does he re-stock?

Hi Sam they turn fine but beware when the timber gets a little thin....it can chip out and leave a hole.....as has happened on my Bannana split blank...built it back up with CA and patience:thumbs:
And George has just stocked up...
