Can I ask, is there anyone planning on doing any pen turning?
Yes, and you are providing the free gear:devil:

To clarify....
The open workshop will have a pretty sh#t Graduate lathe available.(2mt) Might have a couple of bowl blanks available for this.

There will be 2 table top SIP lathes on the day. One belongs to the School, and one is mine. They are 1mt and the kiss test may be check to cheek but anyone worth their salt could make a pen on them!!!

Mine will be fitted with a standard mandrel and a limited amount of bushings will be available.
Pre drilled and glued blanks can be brought, but I cant guarantee we have the kit to do them!

I wouldn't mind some people to come forward interested in sampling some new kits on the day. :winking: Anyone?

I have a new of options. Do you have all the drills Neil or am I better pre drilling and gluing?

The day is getting a bit hectic Dan, so pre drilled and glued may be the best.
I've packed up some tools, the little lathe, and the proedge today, which will be going to the school tomorrow. I've included a couple of barrel trimmers and a few bushings, Omega Zeta and Sierra, + cones.

If you want to turn a kit on the day either buy kits from Dan, or bring prepared blanks. The only trimming option is the end mills so if it's punky wood do it before hand.

I'll bring a mix and match set of imperial drills but cant guarantee to have sizes to match any kits you bring.
Assembly will be via a vice unless some one wishes to bring a pen press?

If you want to bring your own favourite turning tool please do so but you are responsible for its safe keeping!

Hey up chaps - I will see you Saturday, sorry I've not been on in a while. I will fetch the blanks I set aside for the auction.

Is there room for the missus too?
