THis is my first effort in wood colouring so I thought I would aim for something simple. I bought a 12 x 2 blank from Axminster. It sat in the workshop for weeks before I could start it. When I finally started it I attached the face plate but again had to put it to one side as time was limited...

These are the first pens I’ve made since November, & I enjoyed getting back in the saddle. I sneaked an olive pen in with the acrylics.

Had another play... The metal leaf is from flakes I made from sheets of Gold,copper and silver metal leaf... The question is which should be the front and which the back...? Kevin:banana:

Nice piece of Ash, turned a few weeks ago, finished with oil. Diameter is 195mm, 30mm internal depth. Split runs through to the back and is just visible in the bottom of the bowl. Must have been a very stressed tree! As always, C&C please. Thanks, Chriscb

Every now and again I get to cut across the grain with this timber. Every piece I have is eaten down the centre by Termites. Way back it became a very favourite timber to seek out and use. Happy with this one. Peter.:thumbs:
