    I will try again

Well it seems as though my new hobby of 3D printing is not as easy as I thought. Printed this goose, It looks to me as though it is wrong, Can't for the life of me think what it is :funny:

    A lesson learnt.

Hi all I thought I would have a go at making some acrylic pen blanks. I have not tried decorating tubes before and all went well until sanding. I think some water mades its way in at the end of the tube causing some discolouration. I have another blank but this time I have poured some thin CA...

    Bonjour from La Belle France

Hi All, Marco to my friends. Born and bred in Scotland, working life in London, retirement in France. After a life in IT, finally came to realise what my dad (an excellent cabinet maker and all round craftsman) saw in wood (no pun intended), and took up woodturning. Thoroughly enjoying it...

    Playing with spheres

I like to make unnecessary stuff sometimes, pens are not the only thing in life after all. So I made a Chinese ball (that is a sphere in a sphere in a sphere and so on, turned in a single piece of wood) and added some more classical (?) turning around. The idea is to make the spectator first...

    Opti cast 100 PU Resin.

Hi all, This is another resin that has been mentioned in another thread, so I decided to give it a go and I think it is great. The Polytek that I have been using is good but the very short pot life is not good. Opti cast has a 11 minute pot life which is great. It also finishes well going...

    A couple of Epsilons

Morning chaps, Bought the blanks from Dave Hilton, the pens had only been made for barely 24 hours before they sold! The Indian rosewood looks better in real life, the photographs were a rush job taken outside! But the olive is stunning! Comments please. Thanks, Chriscb

DElving into my blank room using up the the kits I have collected. Then this one arrived as a prize a Tempest Kit. TM Alpha

Managed to "dress" a TM Alpha kit today in rollerball form. This was my first attempt at one, not too happy tbh, as there are still tiny scratches on it, I have ordered new micro pads as I think my ones are getting near the end of their life.

    Friction polish without shellac

Hi, as most will know... buying shellac in the uk is next to impossible, although we can make it from the flakes it has a shelf life, even the flakes have a shelf life if kept dry and in the fridge, 6 months is too short for me as id probably only use the polish once every few months... I was...
