    Friction polish?

Unusually for me I decided to move away from my highly polished CA finishes and try out Turners Retreats Diamond Coat Pen Polish. It doesn’t look so bad on the Thuya Burr pen. I guess it gives a more natural finish some would say. My question to you all is this. Is this just another brand of...

    Friction Polish

Anyone here use friction polish to buff up your pens? I think this is the first time I have asked a question on here without me writing a 5 page essay before it

    3rd. Celtic

I found some veneer on the web as I wanted to use wood as the inserts rather than plastic cards. Did have some issues and had to do some repair work on the knot, now hidden, mostly, by the clip. Tried as I said in another thread to polish 6 coats of sanding sealer with micofine - that did not...

    Question

Is Friction Polish the same as burnishing cream? I have some friction polish and thought I had some burnishing cream but just can not find it anywhere and as such I am a little reluctant to purchase some more. Could I use the friction polish in-between layers of CA when finishing pens? Gary

    first pen turned

This was my first attempt at making a pen. Made with Zebrano wood to a slimline pen-kit. Struggling with the finishing process at the moment, as this was sanded to 600 grit, then a coat of friction polish and microchrystalline stick to finish. Regards. John

    Turning speed

Curious to understand what speed range people here use to turn pens. I work between 550 for roughing out a blank up to 1750 for sanding and friction polish. Just wondering whether it would be worth changing the belt and moving to a higher speed range.

Hi all, I have just cast some Acrylic picture embeded pen blanks and can not take the chance of water entering the ends of the tube during polishing. I think Mark mentioned something on this subject a few years ago.I have a 3 wheel buffing system and the relevent waxes. I would like to know...
