I got a nice parcel in the post today from my mate GeordieB.

5 lovely Black Locust Burr Blanks.

I had to turn one straight away to see what they looked like.

This is an Elegant Beauty Australiana. I will be sending the pen up to Bill Mooney for Blind Veterans from Geordie and Me.

Nicely done Vic, amazing the difference of a turned blank next to an unturned one, oh what further beauty lies beneath.

Very special day today with brilliant pens to remember then along comes the duckling blank to beautiful pen. The cause is well rewarded you two.

Hidden depths indeed and all was revealed.

Looks great!
With the over extension of the refill tip, looks like the blank is a bit too short?

Les

Les could I be so bold as to say I prefer and plan for a little more extension, much rather have that than too short. The test is only if it retracts fully for carrying in the pocket.

Peter.

The blank was machined to the exact length of the tube And the tube was not shortened any during the trimming process. It does look as if it sticks out a bit but it fully retracts back into the nib end. I have always preferred a good sticky out bit :winking::winking:
