This is my second fountain pen.
I wanted to do a fat cigar pen in Cumberland ebonite.
It worked out fine, but i forgot to polish the tenons before thread cutting...
I tried to polish these parts after i cut the threads but that did not work very well.
Working for the first time with ebonite, i could not polish it very well.
I sanded it from grid 100 to 1000 and Micromesh up to grid 12000 but i´ve not been able to get it scratch free. Still waiting for a buffing wheel.

The pen has a #5 medium Bock nib, a M9x0,75 thread from section to barrel and M12x0,75 thread from barrel to cap.

Comments and critics are welcome.

That looks spot on, it sounds you are like me and the worlds worst critic on my own pens.

But at least it's all good learning points. Well done all good.

well done.

i have found that some farecla 300 and then 500 polish to be easier than a going to a buffing wheel. I have generally sanded to 600, then used the polishes on acrylics, plastics and ebonite.

This may sound silly but i have had great results polishing with liquid brasso on acrylic ect after sanding to 600 grit with abralon. Came out like a mirror.

You can also get great results with ca glue, sanding to 600 grit with abralon again, then friction polish and finally polish with autoglym silicone car polish.:winking:

A very well made pen Gerrit. If you're not happy with finish Farecla 300 & 500 does a great job as already mentioned.
