Here's the rest so far:

Mistral is two identical lots, rest are one of each - total lots = 6

Note aluminium is for the bit of plate only. The other two bits are to show how it works and polishes as I have no idea what grade it is.

Is that for a small detail type gun or pwerful enough for general use. I don't need one but might have a spare full size spraygun to go with it if it can cope.

I honestly don't know Bob.
Basil did say that it originally had a low pressure gun with it that was never used. not sure if he still has this.
He will be attending on the day, if his health allows, but it doesn't look too likely at the moment, so I don't want to pester him over it.

Bob,

It looks like a Thomson Industries "Sprayit" diaphragm type compressor. I had a similar one in the 1970's and whilst it is more suited to airbrushing it will handle a spraygun so long as it does not require more than about 3cfm. I used mine for doing bodywork repairs back in the days when normal humans could still figure out how to take cars apart and repair them. The gun I used was similar to this.

A rather bashed, but Beautiful Lignum Vitae Carving mallet, with Ash? handle.

Mallet_318x480.jpg

This dates back to at least the 1940's,
The handle still retains evidence of the turning centres, so the discerning craftsman can true up the mallet for continued use.

Mallet1_384x480.jpg

Mallet2_640x479.jpg

Please note that these were made as as a continuous usable tool, and due to shakes, may not be suitable for pen blanks.
The Heartwood provided the weight, and the sapwood provided the "give"
4" to 3" diameter head, 9" to top of handle.
Regards,
Neil

Don't forget to register for to bid on the auction. And while you're there, why not put an early bid on?

There hasn't been a lot of movement on the Auction lately. Get in early and you might just grab it as a bargain. There are pen blanks, bowl blanks, glue, wax, a compressor, pen making chisels and much more.

I did remember to look and do have a spraygun spare. I can see it but can't get to it to photograph:whistling: Assuming it's of use, is it better to just add to the compressor as a package or list seperately?
I'll dig it out over the weekend and send the info.
