    Awful blanks.

I bought some Olive wood blanks off ebay a while back and decided I'd drill and glue a few to make some slimline pen and pencil sets. I found the blanks to be very, very light with absolutely no weight to them whatsoever. The 7mm drill bit almost fell through them. The first blank I tried to...

    ANother Delta.

This Delta is the other half of my commission to go with the heart pen. The blank is like a flame which changes as you move the pen. I bought it from Vince at Turners Workshop.

    First and Last Time

I have never bought from America before and I will never again. Just bought a 20oz jar of special paint which cost £23, that was enough but then I have had to pay vat £1.08 which is fare enough. Although I paid for shipping in the £23 the post office had to jump on the band wagon and charge me...

    BMPK Shakespeare fountain Pen kit

I've bought a few pen kits just recently and the quality has been reasonable to cheap and nasty even though the cost doesn't reflect it. One kit I got from Axminster is so cheap looking I won't even bother using it quite frankly. Today I received the BMPK kit from Taylors Mirfield and what a...

    Desk pen trumpet query.

Hi youngins I've came across a wee bitty problem. Months ago I bought a pen trumpet and have now started to turn the base and have prepared the blank ready to turn. On closer inspection I've found that a normal slimline nib is too big to fit into the trumpet.:rolling: Is there a special kit for...

I finally got bitten by the bug

So I've been casting PR for a couple of months with so great results but I was getting annoyed at how brittle it was (I need a more robust product). So I bit the bullet and bought a pressure pot, compressor along with some clear polyurethane resin and a shed load of mica colors I feel like a...

Trusted supplier of logs to turn?

Hi I was just wondering if anyone can recommend a good supplier of kiln or air dried logs between say 10-50 cm diameter? My purchases so far have been a hit and miss from ebay and most bought are that badly split they are firewood, not wax sealed end grain or seasoned right.
