I've just turned my first piece of Yunstone, but it has a lot of white flecks that make it look a mess! is this normal of Yunstone? If not can anyone tell me what the problem is? Sorry it's not the best picture.

Just a few bits turned in the last week or two. The candle holder is 3 1/2" x 3 1/4"(at the top)and the tree hanging is 6"long. a little pot 5" x 4" do not know what to call this one its from a bit wood that had been cut off at an angle so not to waste it I turned this 6" high

I didn't want to pay for a 6" blank when 5" are a lot cheaper and more common. I modified the pen by making the large tube shorter so that the pen was just under 5". I turned the pen to be more chunky. The only problem was that the spring was too long so I cut it in half Glen

This is a New Series ballpoint in gold. The blank is a SpectraPly called Autumn. This particular blank was stabilized by Terry G, and worked much better than the first SpectraPly blank I turned. The darker sanding dust didn't get stuck in the lighter layers, like the SpectraPly Blue Angel blank...
