Having read in envy all of the posts relating to the last day that you had I am sure that there a lot more of us would love to jump on the bandwagon. Tying it in with the Harrogate show makes it even more tempting.

I am definitely up for it Neil and would be happy to take more part in the preparation if that would help. The idea of tying it in with Harrogate is a good one although it might cause problems as many of the people you might want to demonstrate could be committed already.

Obviously I would be happy to do another demo but, if there is only going to be one demo, then something other than pen turning might generate more interest. Demonstrating pen making to pen makers is a bit "coals to Newcastle". It might be more interesting to have some sort of hands on facility running throughout the day. I would be happy to be involved in that too so long as some others would help out.

Could you get the Hat Man ? Can't remember his name :rolling:

That is a fabulous demo.

I don't care when it is asking as there are big lumps of Olive to purchase.

If I can make it, which is a very much unknown at the moment.
My intention would be to stay a goodly few days and meet as many people as possible.
So would be happy to help wherever I can init?
Might be skint or brown bread before then so don't count on me.

The only problem I can see with tying it in with Harrogate, is err.. I'll be at Harrogate:funny:
As Walter says it will be difficult to get a classy demonstrator around that time.
I will post some prospective dates as soon as I can, but I obviously need to ensure That I have a demonstrator available on the chosen date.
I intend to swap things around a bit so I can increase the official capacity. I had quite a few people ask about "hands on", so I will be looking at getting a few lathes in on the day and ask for voluntary tutors to do a few short sessions (insurance allowing)
Scroll saws will also be available if any one fancies a play!
This time the only set things will be the one main demo and lunch. You can just sit and chin wag, play on the machines, drink Smiffs, Whatever!
I hope to have a larger selection of interesting wood for sale, and I'm sure Dan will have a trailer full of stuff on offer by then!
And yes Phil, there will be Olive:bwink:

Right I think we're sorted!
Woody is booked for a tour of the Smiffs brewery.
Grump will be demonstrating the best plastic to use on an empress pen kit.
Paul will be demonstrating how to apply a Ca finish using an Owl.

Damn! this may have been a Dream / Nightmare!:funny::funny:

Actually guys, I've only managed to sort out the public liability!:rolling:

I'm waiting to hear from some prospective demonstrators and settle a date. I hope to get a date sorted as soon as, so as many people who would like to come can make it.
Buy a 2015 diary now and wait with pen hovering!
Please don't tell me you don't have a pen!:mooney2:
Regards,
Neil

Haven't forgotten this!
Pinning wood turners down to attend something like this is like herding cats!
All the retired members are too busy, and everyone else is at work.

I am now in talks with some interesting demonstrators, and will let you know how things progress.

Ideal dates would be sometime in June or July?
I realise that some of you may be away, but it is your own fault for having children!:funny:

Taking on board comments made from this year, there will be one major demonstration, a bit of fun, and a great deal of socialising!
There will be a bit of hands on, and hopefully an evening do, for those who can attend.
I'll confirm all the details as soon as I can.
Regards,
Neil

I would love to come Neil if Walter doesn't mind picking me up again. It was such a good day & this time I can put faces to names as I hadn't joined the forum until after the last get together so I didn't meet everyone from the forum who was there.

Phew! finally have managed to hand over the job I was forced to do, on top of the normal one!

I've checked today and the ideal dates for the school will be either Saturday 11th July, or Saturday 18th July!
Please post here on the best date you can attend, and I'll go with the majority if poss.
This is also dependent on which demonstrator I can get for the date, but I can't confirm until a date is set!
Taking on comments from last year, there will be one set demo, the Wood fairy will once again be providing excellent food, and there will be plenty of time to socialise, and hopefully there will be an auction of donated items to raise funds as last time.
I'm sorry this has taken so long to sort out, but hope you can make it:rolling:
