    My Old Colliery

Done a few of these Zeta Pens over the last few weeks as requested by some of my old Mining Colleagues. The Picture in the Pen is of Lea Hall Colliery. Over 2500 were employed at the colliery until it was closed in 1991. Some great and sad memories whilst working here.

    Quick project (not)

As this is wood based project I have put it here. Another toy/model for one of the great grandsons. The second photo is just the start of the tracks each link including the pins have 5 pieces in them and there is a total of 60 altogether so lots of parts just for the tracks.

    Pen Kit discounts

Morning all I have been purchasing pen kits from Beaufort Ink and the quality has been absolutely superb. I know that there are other supplies in order to increase my repertoire and also I would like to make a few shaving kits taking inspiration from the great work I have seen on here. I have...

    Great grandson bowl

We have just got a new great grandson and I thought a little bowl was ideal way as a gift. So came up with this bowl with his name and date of birth on it. It has three little feet for a change. It is about 7" diameter as I did not get chance to measure it, I also had to get the Grandson to...

Hi all, A quick one, so I thought, yeah I hate black!! This is a circuit board blank from Dave at Penkitz and it turned great but black is soooo unforgiving and shows every little imperfection..... It took ages to finish!!

    The UK returns to normal!

Well, the BBC for whom I used to have the greatest respect for as the great broadcasting institution that it used to be, are trying to send us all into a post covid vegetative state of moronic depression, blaming everyone else for the reason that they are where they are! Fortunately not everyone...

    At last

Been rather ill so far this year and have done very little turning wise. Rather than just stare at the bedroom, with great effort I decided to get myself to the shed and try turning a pen. Started turning an Atrax on some coloured ply but I made a boo boo on the gluing and got nowhere. Instead...

    Glue

If you use CA, that’s great. If you use PU, that’s great. I don’t! I use epoxy. The most economical and best consistency in my opinion is this stuff: It’s in the middle of Lidl today but don’t try the Letchworth store after about ten as there won’t be any left! I need about fifty tubes. I...

They also invited customers to apply for a Trade Account which entitles them to discounts on some items. Hey - great. The bug is that if you have a trade account you can't buy stuff...

    Resin to use

Hi, Can someone help me out. What I wish to know is. What is the best resin to use that does not require a pressure pot. I do not want to use it in great quantities just enough for some pen blanks. Thanks :thinks::thinks:
