    All in Black and White

Spent a bit of time today constructing some polymer clay blanks. Not made any of them in the past couple of years, but nice to spend some time doing these and am reasonably pleased with the outcomes. Not sure yet whether I'll just turn, sand and CA them or to clean them up and resin coat them...

    advice on painting tubes

I am looking at painting some tubes white to give a better background for resin blanks. What is the best type of paint to use and do you need to prime? I predominately use acrylic for model making and hope this would be good enough. Once painted is it OK to use CA glue to bond blank to tube?

    Which glue

Is there a simple one tube glue for sticking tubes in blanks. I tried ca but had a couple of disasters when it set before the tube was in the right place. So I tried epoxy but trying to get two equal amounts out of the tubes is a pain, even with one of those twin tube jobbies. What glue do you...

    Baking painted tubes?

I'm impatient, I freely admit that. Does anyone bake painted pen tubes to make the paint dry faster? I'm thinking a small toaster oven. Any idea what temperature to use?

    Acrylic display tubes.

How many of you use the acrylic display tubes? I use them to store the pens for safe keeping until they are sold or if I ever need to take them to a fair / market. I also have the 48 pen holder wallets which are great for displaying them, but I don't feel it protects them well enough when...

Im very sorry to make a 2nd thread about this as there are a few edits and I cannot edit a thread once it has been posted. Leadwood problems.

Evening ladies and gentlemen, Doki oki, here I was turning some leadwood for the omega's attached and all was well. Process to get me there was pretty normal. Drilled out to the correct diameter, very slowly and with great care. Tubes fitted well, not too tight but snug. Glued with 5 minute...

I wanted to back paint the blanks white and the tubes white to show the contrast between these and the ones I back painted Black, but I had no white spray paint and my wife let me use some white nail polish, but I didn't get the inside of the blank covered well nor the tubes so I didn't bother...

Well i have just had my first total failure, i was making a pencil kit with the big pencil lead. I prepared the tubes sanding with a coarse grit to give plenty of adhesion. I use thick CA and leave it for 24hrs to go off and cure. I am not sure what the blank was made of but it smelt like...

    Gorilla Glue for gluing tubes.

Has anyone used this Gorilla Glue stuff for gluing tubes in blanks ? Bought some today because Toolstation no longer stock my favorite Evo Stick epoxy resin. On reading the instructions it says that you have to moisten the item your gluing and that the glue swells to 3 to 4 times its volume...
